Best Beach Wedding Ever
Having a wedding on a beach already provides you with beautiful natural decor. But, it’s still a wedding ceremony and you want to include some traditional wedding elements. Here are some hints to help you plan the best beach wedding ever.
The Aisle
This isn’t a church and you don’t have pews to decorate. But you want to beautifully define the aisle down which you will make your grand entrance.
1. It’s a beach, so how about pretty shells down both sides of the path you will take to the alter?
2. Shepherd’s hooks with hanging baskets can also define the aisle and the baskets could then be moved to the reception
3. Tall hurricane lanterns with large lit candles on each side, decorated with flowers and greenery can also define the aisle
The Alter
You will want to define where the ceremony is taking place
1. A simple canopy made out of tree limbs, decorated with flowers and greenery will fit nicely with the beach theme
2. A curved garden arbor with some trailing vines and wound with gauzy fabric would create a romantic alter
3. A giant wooden picture frame, supported from the back and decorated with palms would create a unique affect for your beach wedding
The Pictures
Be sure to take advantage of the beautiful setting to create some truly unique photographs
1. Silhouette the bride and groom against a backdrop of ocean waves
2. Another romantic photograph can be created with the couple walking away down a pristene beach leaving only their footprints in the sand
3. If the couple doesn’t mind getting wet, how about the bride and groom kissing surrounded by he crashing waves
The Food
If your reception is also on the beach you will want to include some fun ways to serve food
1. For soda, water and beer, fill a canoe with ice then add the bottles and cans
2. Cut watermelon into small triangles and stick lollipop sticks in the rind side for easy popsicle-like eating
3. Plan a bonfire and make s’mores – a beach party classic
Final Thoughts
Provide a basket for guests to kick off their shoes as they arrive; nobody wants to wear heels in the sand. Post a sign so your guests know that you expect them to go barefoot.
If it’s a really hot day consider providing fans and bottles of water to your guests as they arrive to keep them comfortable.
If you want to wear a veil, remember that beaches can be damp and your veil should be sturdy enough to not wilt in the humidity.
Beach weddings can be both casual and elegant. But most of all they should be fun. Use these tips and you can plan the best beach wedding ever.
